WordPress 101 is a series of unique training videos designed to provide an introductory overview of the WordPress content management system (CMS). These HD-quality video screencasts will help you learn how to use WordPress to publish your own blog posts and pages, edit existing content on your web site, interact with your readers, and build traffic to your site.

Why WordPress 101?

My name is Shawn Hesketh, and since 1988, I’ve been designing logos, websites, and marketing materials for my clients in Houston, TX. Over the past several years, I’ve built countless custom WordPress sites for my clients, enabling them to manage their own content and keep their sites up to date without having to turn to a professional web designer each time. In addition to providing design services, I also offer highly-personalized WordPress training for my clients.

I realize that personalized, one-on-one training isn’t for everyone, so I created this video “crash course” for WordPress that will cover all the basics and help you get up and running in the quickest amount of time possible.

Aren’t there any WordPress training books out there?

Sure there are! If you’re a WordPress user, you probably already know about the comprehensive documentation that can be found online in the WordPress codex. You may have already seen the WordPress for Dummies book by Lisa-Sabin Wilson, or WordPress for Business Bloggers by Paul Thewlis.

While these are excellent resources—and I regularly recommend them to my clients—many folks learn best by simply watching someone else.

Plus, let’s face it — who’s got time to read boring “tech books” these days? The WordPress 101 tutorial videos are just 5-minutes each, and will provide a solid introduction to WordPress in about an hour and a half.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I use the same login for more than one user?
No, each membership entitles one user to access the videos. Our user management software only permits a user to login from a total of 3 IP addresses per day. If multiple users attempt to access the site via the same login, this IP limitation will block future attempts to login until the following day.

Q: Can I download the videos to my own computer?
No, the videos are only available for viewing on this site.

Q: Can I put these videos on my own site?
Sure! We offer two additional types of licensing, both of which permit you to place these videos on your own website:

• Our Standard Distribution License costs $1,500 and enables you to display the 17 videos that make up the WordPress 101 series on your own site, in a secure, password-protected area. Under this license, the videos are provided exactly as they appear on this site, and must be displayed as-is, with the WP101 branding intact.
• The Self-Branded Distribution License costs $2,999, and includes re-editing the videos to replace the WP101 branding at the beginning and end of each video with your own logo!
